MARY, MOTHER OF THE CHURCH OF DETROIT
MARY, MOTHER OF THE CHURCH OF DETROIT
Christopher Darga painted this commissioned image of Mary, Mother of the Church of Detroit. The classical scene uniquely portrays Mary standing near the Cathedral and the Eucharist radiating heavenly blessings while saints already known to us and those who are ‘still in process’ gather under Mary’s mantle.
The frame, which is being crafted by Will Williamson, will be 6 1/3 feet wide and 10 1/2 feet tall.
An identification key is below. The unnamed holy persons in the painting represent a cross-section of humanity.
